Project Overview

In this project case study, I will be sharing my experience designing a mobile app for a local fitness centre. The goal was to create an app that made it easy for gym-goers to view class schedules, book sessions, and track their progress.

Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an intuitive user interface that would enhance the overall user experience and encourage engagement with the app.

Design Overview

The Mujii Vase Lamp is a multi-sensory wellness object designed for modern minimal living. Working across Industrial Design, Packaging, Design Direction, and UI/UX, the project harmonizes form, function, and feeling into a singular, calming experience. Each touchpoint—from the tactile silicone body to the seamless app—was thoughtfully crafted to reflect Muji’s ethos of simplicity, clarity, and presence.

Industrial Design
Developed a minimalist, pebble-shaped form that integrates light, mist, and plant life into one cohesive product. Focused on sensory harmony, user comfort, and spatial efficiency.
Packaging
Created sustainable, low-waste packaging that reflects Muji’s no-brand ethos. Designed for unboxing as a calm, tactile experience.

Co-developed an intuitive app interface for seamless control of lighting, mist, and timers—ensuring a frictionless, mindful user experience.

Outcome

The final outcome of the fitness centre mobile app was a user-friendly and engaging digital product that exceeded the client’s expectations.

Users were able to easily view class schedules, book sessions, and track their fitness progress, all within a seamless and intuitive app experience.

As a result, the fitness centre saw an increase in user engagement and loyalty, and the app has become an important part of their overall customer experience.
